206.351 Bonneville. 1979,Open, gas powered 2-engined Kawasaki, Return run, with tail wind, down run- head wind about 193 avg 200.022, still in rule book.

1981 - 1 way - still air, open 204+ , return run - heeavy head wind, 196+ avg.

1981 - partial streamlined, 4 > 5 mph head wind, 208 841. Did not get to make record run.

Highway = 185, on on a 1990 ZX11, 1109cc, Megacycle cams, V&H pipe, dual ram air. Short stretch , still pulling.

If you doubt these runs, look in SCTA records, or come down to Texas, and we will find a back road, and have a go.

Old weekend rider on a Harley, huh? OK.
Fast enough to scare myself. How fast? Who knows? When I'm scaring myself, I look at the road, not the speedo!

these are all speeds as indicated on the speedo ,with stock gearing: 125 on my 1996 suzuki katana 750, 153 on my 2005 suzuki gsxr 750 ,and a whopping 167mph on my 2001 suzuki gsxr 750. i think the 01 was real close to being topped out at 167mph,but the 05 felt like it had quite a bit of steam left.

"I" have only hit 115 on the Magna. I was a little nervous about pushing it higher.

On the 6 I don't think I've cracked 100 yet. But it's hard to say since the speedo isn't in my line of sight on this bike.....

By speedometer - 126 mph.
By police radar - 92 in a 55 mph zone. The fine was $1,500 and a two-year suspension.
On my current bike - 100 mph on a closed course.
Even us old people can learn.

I've gone 168 on a modified ZX6R. It was fast enough to kill me if something went wrong but not fast enough to satisfy the little guy on my shoulder saying" go go go!" But then my son came along and the bike got sold and now I only ride in my dreams. But I go really fast!

I've gone fairly fast. I'd say about 160 or so last time I checked the speedo cuz anything after that I've had my eyes glued to the road.

But here's a question for you - how do you choose a "Best Answer"?

160 on an interstate.
150 on Atlantic Blvd in Va Beach, Va I think it was a 25 mph zone at the time.
