Rap music is music. You'll hear a lot of artists talking about the same thing, but that's only on the surface of it. If you get into the "underground" category or listen to some of the "old school" stuff, you'll find strong vocab and different topics. Rap doesn't create mixed views, other peoples opinions create mixed views therefore causing violence and arguments. Usually the talk about the money and women is just because the artist probably had a rough childhood and now they got what they wished they could've had back then. There is rap that is not about stupid things. Check out Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Little Brother, Common, etc. If you only hear the artists like Ying Yang Twins, Lil' Jon, Lil' Scrappy, 50 Cent, or others popular on the radio, that's all you're going to hear, the same stuff over and over again. But if you dig deeper, you'll find the goldmine that other rap fans have found.
