A hippo is larger than the buffalo.
An average adult hippo weighs 1,500 to 3,200 kg (3,300 to 7,000 lb) and average of 3.5 meters (11 ft) long, 1.5 meters (5 ft) tall at the shoulder.
The heaviest of buffaloes reach only 600 - 750 kg and are 1.7 meters high, 2.8 meters long only.
So be it size or weight, hippo is the winner.
