We are looking for a place for a family of 2 adults and 2 girls, 11 and 15? Somewhere interesting where we can spend the afternoon.

It really depends on their interests. My kids love the Pequot museum in Eastern CT. If your girls love to shop there is Clinton Crossings, in Clinton and Westbrook outlets( W/ a new Hollister outlet) both off 95. I think the Mystic Aquarium is very expensive and the Norwalk is a better value. The Mystic Seaport is great if you live in CT and can get a free library pass. The best mall in CT is the MAnchester mall because it has H&M, Aeropostle, Hollister and American Eagle, according to my friends with girls. Best of all is Shady Glen a local cheesburger joint which is a local legend! Have fun.

Mystic Seaport is a nice place to visit.

You could also go to New Haven. It has some bad parts, but it has good parts too, like right around Yale University. Lots of restaurants and stores there.
