use an egg
dissolve the shell ("cell wall")" in vinegar (acetic acid)
the concentration of water will be greater in the vinegar than it is in the egg so water from the vinegar will diffuse through the egg membrane ("cell membrane") into the egg causing it to swell

demonstate further by putting this egg in corn syrup
since the concentration of water is greater inside the egg than it is in the cornsyrup the water will diffuse by osmosis from the inside of the egg out into the syrup and it will cause the egg to shrink (cell or plasma membrane still intact.)
