Naruto is becoming too mainstream there is no question about that, and i realized this fact when couple of my friends who know nothing about anime or manga ( cause they mistake one for the other....they say "oh so you like to watch manga?" or "oh so you read anime" all the time) so these guys know nothing about anime or manga... and just the other day surprisingly they were talking about naruto characters and they couldn't even pronounce their names..so they were describing the characters..."the guy with the mask" (kakashi) and so on and it was just painful listening to them and i just said to myself "OH MY GOD ....NARUTO IS BECOMING THE NEXT POKEMON" .....so for good or bad is Naruto becoming the next Pokemon?

Well, maybe it's becoming just as famous/well known as Pokemon was a few years ago. But I think Naruto is better; much more interesting than Pokemon. That's just me, though, and I used to be obssessed with Pokemon, so really, what do I know. But though it's becoming more and more popular, even coming out with trading cards and role playing games and stuff, Naruto won't ever really become the next Pokemon in that it's a lot more serious and has a point (Naruto wants to be Hokage, Sasuke wants to kill Itachi, etc., while Ash Ketchum just wants to catch'em all, which, really, could go on and on and on forever). Since Naruto is also a manga, it's definitely going to end at some point, and that makes it different from Pokemon, which basically is pointless...The only thing that the two animes have in common is basically their popularity and wide outreach. Read the Naruto manga, though, and you'll see that otherwise, they are infinitely different.
Wow, that was a lot of blabbing, I doubt I even make any sense :P
But yeah! So, Naruto, though popular, won't become the next Pokemon I think! lol

I'm a big fan of Naruto, but i do not think that its at the level where its becoming the new Pokemon. Pokemon was in a leauge of its own, it was a one of a kind type of thing. Naruto is great as it is, but its just that there are too many animes/mangas out there nowadays. Naruto is definetly up there on the list, but not to the extent that it owns that group. It wouldnt be bad if Naruto became the new Pokemon, but i dont think its quite at that level yet. (pst! the new manga came out today!)

Nah, I doubt it'll reach that level of popularity. The whole Naruto franchise just isn't as big and doesn't appeal to as wide a base of fans as Pokemon. Pokemon has everything Naruto does, plus so much more. It's like the games. The Pokemon games are actual RPG's that can get pretty involving. The Naruto series are just fighter knock offs. But to each their own.

If Naruto can reach the same level of popularity Dragon Ball did back in its heyday, then all the better. But given that Pokemon is essentially a cultural fixture in Japan alone, Naurto will be outproduced in its home country and thus less content will make it to the US.

I think so, now everywhere you turn your head, there's a Naruto action figure or things on TV or even the trading cards...and i remember how popular Pokemon was in the old times(not the OLD times but just a few years ago), nobody was "cool" until you got one of those thingys that came into the cheese puffs in my country...now is Naruto... I wonder how long will it take to end this "fame" '-'; but i hope it doesn't end... So, yes, I think so.

tl;dr That'd be cool, but it's more like a spin-off than a main series. Or play Super Smash Bros. series and play as one of the Pokemons XD

No. And just because they are'nt anime nerds like the rest of us does'nt should blame the anime for becoming "too" mainstream. It should'nt bother you. Unless your a weaboo.
