why do guys feel the need to lie to us (women) about things they "think" we will be mad about... but when we find out the truth it is so much worse than it would have been if they would have just told the truth....

Why do women do the same thing??? Honestly, you'll just go around in circles trying to come up with an answer to this question 'cause it's different for every person and every situation.

Funny thing you said that. I'm going through the same thing right now. Actually got dumped over it. So, I'll tell you why we do this stuff.
Usally it's over something that if no one knows, nothing bad will happen. Or it's something that only affects us and we really don't see a reason to explain it to you. Have you ever cheating on an exam at school? Made a u turn in the middle of the road when no one was looking? Snuck into the pool at night after hours? Same thing, but no one knew and everything turned out fine. Only way you would have got in trouble would be if you told on yourself. Now what
would telling on yourself accomplish? That's our thought process.
If there's any sign of weakness, guys will hide or lie about it like we're handling the situation, when we're probably not doing very well. Mostly we think it will hurt you, and the truth is we don't want to hurt you. The mistake is us covering it up. Since we're psychologically programmed to do this by nature, it's going to be the same with almost every guy you meet. Girls do the same thing, they're just better at hiding it than we are.
What guys do that seem trivial or a minor bad last minute decision, is usally the equivilent of the 9/11 disaster to a woman, so we lie about things. Who want to go through that again, really.
Well, there you go. Might not be what you want to hear, but that's what happens.

You say "things that dont matter", this is the whole thing here, it must matter to you (women) or else you wouldnt ask in the first place, it may be lying about stupid things, as you call it, but it apparently isnt stupid enough for you to let it go. What Im trying to say is, if you have to ask him a question about something that is stupid, then the question matters to you. So it really does matter, if it didnt matter, you wouldnt ask in the first place and youd let it go, and theres no lying and the whole situation is avoided. (whatever the problem is that you have to ask about). Does that make sense? Good luck!

Most of the time its cause females are over dramatic and make a big deal over nothing with enough times which that occurs its like training us. If we tell the truth it will be a fight if we lie it will be a fight whats the difference, so its just as easy to put off the fight till later; and hope it never occurs. If you make your relationship to be open and good comunication then really you shouldnt have those issues.

I don't know. I think people in general do this. I guess it's because they don't want to deal with the anger or confrontation. It's moronic but pretty common. Who knows why people do anything? I've given up trying to figure out why people do certain things. Alot of people are just rotten human beings and want to feel powerful so they make up their truth & reality.

cause they have big egos and dont want to look like a fool. if you ask me most guys usually do most of their thinking with the wrong head anyway
