Why are there so many "christians" on here bashing people who are gay? I am a straight woman who was raised a christian but I have also been taught to love and support fellow human beings. What happened to Judge not lest ye be judged? I honestly would like to know why people need to spread so much hate? Isn't it our Heavenly Father's job to decide who has lived a good life?

I think that the quotation marks say it all. They are not really Christians...or as I have quoted before:

A lot of christians get caught up on the legalism of the words in the bible (not even getting into the translations used, and when the words in the bible aren't even the actual words in the bible), and some others just use the bible to justify their own personal discomfort with the whole issue. Add to that being fed a bunch of pretty outlandish lies by your pastor, and you're not particularly likely to like gay people. (If I believed half the stuff I've found on some of the websites about gay people, I probably wouldn't like us either).

I was wondering the same thing. I also noticed these same people are bashing people of other religions as well. I dont think you guys need to preach what you practice on here. I get enough of that in real life at my doorstep, when i walk by a church, etc. No one can escape the "Let Jesus be your Saviour" brochures. :/

God bless you!!! I am a born and raised Christian lesbian (I don't practice in the actual church anymore due to many many aspects about it i don't agree with - the hate towards homosexuality being only one of them)!!
I am not sure why Christians, in particular, come onto the LBGT board and "diss" us gays. I don't go onto the Christian/Catholic board and say negative things..it's a waste of time.
i think if people believe that God created everyone, why would he create LBGT people if he was not ok with it? but hey...that's just me!

Hi Cassie, unlike most others on here, you are indeed a real christian. thanks for pointing this out. so many people who pretend to be christians actually give themselves away by being judgemental, which of course is very unchristianlike.
keep up the great work and always do your best to be kind, respectful, loving, and tolerant, and you can expect others to appreciate you.

as a gay man and a catholic i myself have conflicting feelings on this subject so here goes, we are taught by or parents and pastors that homosexuality is a sin. as pastors go they feel it is their job to let us know god doesn't love us because of our sexuality and they feel its their duty to change us to live the life they do and they feel they are doing the right thing by telling us what the bible says, but we as god fearing people need to remind them of one thing they always forget. god made us and has given us free will to make our own choices AND he knew how we would lead our lives because he has already planned them out for us. as for parents hating gays and doing it in front of children, its because they were raised that way and don't know any better. its our task to show them we are not different, that we are people who do have feelings and what we do in the privacy of our own homes is our buisness. in the end you are right to show respect for your fellow humans, god will judge us all in his own time.

you were right to use the quotations. those bashers aren't "real" Christians. they use religion to justify their hatred. God created and loves us all...and He loves me just fine the way he created me! and, bless you for your support! you are an example of a "real" Christian.
