We must not forget Ennio Morricone (The Mission). He was also the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award at the Oscars this year. While he has done the score for many films (such as The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly) -- he really is most noted for 'The Mission'. In fact, one of the songs from the score 'Nella Fantasia' has been recorded and performed by numerous classical based artists in recent years like Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, and Russell Watson.
There is also Randy Edelmann who is responsible for the musical score to 'Dragonheart' (among countless others) which has been previously put to film clips in past Oscar years during the memorial segments for those who have passed on throughout the previous year.
