I like this guy and i have for one year now. We are pretty good friends, but he doesnt like me back, he does kno i like him! I asked him to come to my last party and he said he would come but at the last minute he said he had to work. come but at the last minute he said he had to work. Do u think he was just avoiding me? Should I invite him to my sweet sixteen this year, or do u think he will just disappoint me again?

It sounds like you are going after a boy who is clearly not interested in a relationship with you. But if you are friends with him, invite him to the party anyway. The worst he can do is not show up. Have no expectations that he will, and you won't be disappointed if he doesn't.

He may have been avoiding you last year, or he may have truly had to work. Either way, he did not put your party at the top of his priority list.

Focus on having a great party!

It is possible that his job just has bad timing, or that he is incapable of keeping track of when he has to work... especially if he's also 15/16.

If you want him there, invite him, but don't expect him to be there even if he does say he's coming. That way, if he doesn't show, you won't be too disappointed. But if he does, you'll be happy.

Also... when I was 14-19, I felt the same way about a guy - I liked him, he knew it, didn't seem to like me back. I went to college with him, and fell in love with one of his roommates. So even if it doesn't work out with him, KIT - he might wind up with a cute roomie :-)

I would invite him since it sounds like you guys are good friends. However, I would advise you not to get your hopes up. If this guy knows you like him and he doesn't like you back in that way, be his friend. I know that it can be hard at first-believe me, I have been in your situation. But wouldn't you rather have him in your life as a friend rather than not at all? Besides you are young still, time can change and who knows maybe in the future you can be more than friends.
Good luck!
