Nothing would make me happier than to catch Bush & his cronnies for something like a Watergate scandal but as stupid as Bush is he's not stupid enough to pull something like Watergate & that is what it would take to impeach Bush.

All Dems want to do is get a lot of media coverage showing the US public how "tough" they are FINALLY being w/ Bush but, as usual with Dems, it's too little too late.

I do not believe Bush to be untouchable. The Democrats just came into power in November, aren't you being a little rash with your slam on them. After all indictments are being handed down to top people in the White House, sounds like they are doing a fine job of touching him.

The Gonzales scandal is bigger than Watergate. The Bush administration is attempting to corrupt the entire law enforcement arm of 8 states and turn all those officers and all those guns into their own little neo-con army. Better too little too late than nothing at all. Everyone knows the Dems are the lesser of two evils, and that both sides are evil, you are either a victim of their politics or one of them. What do you want Congress to do, move to Dubai with Haliburton? Men and Women of good conscience do what they are able to do. Those at the highest levels of our government are obligated to do the most good, and the Bush administration has failed completely in this responsibility.

The Federal government stopped "governing" the people of this country decades ago and delegated that responsibility to the State governments. It is time to force the Federal government into actually addressing issues that effect the general public instead of turning our great country into a corporate whore and enriching themselves and their cronies at public expense. We have 7 times more private contractors working for the Federal Government than we have actual Federal employees. Such corruption must be addressed and stopped. The tariffs imposed on Chinese paper imports are a start. Focus on what is positive and build off it, we can do nothing about the negative anyway, we are only in a position to observe and report.

I don't think that dems want to impeach Bush. That would mean getting Cheney as President until the next election and THAT is a scary thought. He has enough power as it is. I do think that the dems are playing it right by challenging Bush on things though. That is why they got elected.

I agree. I wish more people would call for impeachment, but it shows why he won't allow himself or anyone in his administration to testify under oath.

They are liars and they know it. Look what happened to Scooter Libby.

Clinton didn't do half of what Bush has done, but he did go under oath, and lied, and that was wrong and he admitted it.

Hopefully, we'll take what we can get and the administration will be so despised, that Dems will get the White House.

I don't doubt some Democrats are simply interested in feathering their own political nests.

But there are many people--including many Republicans--who are trying to rein in Bush's dictatorial arrogance.

And--I do disagree that Bush is "untdouchable." Granted, the evidence to force a resignation a la Nixon may not surface. But does anyone really dout that he's done far wors than Nixon did? The catch, of course, is proving it. And even if Bush is dumb enoough to get caught (possible) Cheney is very shrewd.

You are reading this wrong, The Democrats have no desire to impeach Bush because then we get Cheney and he would be in a position to run for President. It's hard to beat an incumbent. Dem's are handling this right.

Unfortunately, neither political party seems to be able to take the high road b/c they're always thinking about the next election.

yes, Bush is untouchable, apparently ... how we could try to impeach someone for oral sex in the oval office (which is pretty bad), yet not for being a war criminal is beyond me.

No it isn't.It;s actually just gaining steam.May not get bush directly but the way it's going he really will be buried under the machinations of Rove and himself.
His favorite minions are all under well deserved scrutiny and failing quite well. And the poor man has 2 years of this coming up and then has to face the rest of his life as one of the most failed presidencies in our history.
NOT a pretty sight but one well earned.

no one is untouchable. Dems simply don't have any real evidence of all the things like like to cry about. they simply can't get over the fact that Bush got elected twice and they lost twice, that's all. in 08 the game starts again and is fair game for both parties. I sometimes hope they win in 08 at least to get a 4 year break of all their winning and crying. Is hard work to deal with a sore looser for 8 years straight.

I don't think they are trying to get to Bush so much as to diminish his standing as to make him politically impotent ,

The sheer number of concurrent investigation and requests for information seems to me to be an attempt to hit the Administration with body blows, and not an attempt at a knock out.

If they can accomplish this goal,it would be very difficult for the Republicans to justify supporting a man who is corrupt and incompetent to the public.
