someone please answer me this-

why did we say NINETEEN-NINTY FIVE for the year 1995 but Two Thousand Seven for 2007.
like we broke up the 19 and 95
and now its just the 2000 annd 7

it should be the year of Twenty Seven like when its 2010 will we say two thousand ten but it should be twenty ten?

It would have to be twenty-oh-seven, I'd say, but maybe you're right... But, two thousand seven is clearer and the roundness is a novelty.

I feel sure we will switch to twenty ten when the time comes.

ADDED: I have been hearing the last few years being referred to as oh-four, etc.

interesting question. i guess we just say whatever "sounds" right. don't you think two thousand seven is easier to say than twenty oh seven? weird huh? some things just sound right. like when you say the names of aunts and uncles, or a couple, most of the time one name sounds right when you say it first, like joe and bea or scott and brittnee. see what i mean? so that's my answer, maybe it just sounds right!@
