Of course a 12-year-old can be in love. Telling someone they can't be in love because of their age is just about the stupidest thing anyone can do. It stunts emotional growth and causes people to question their own feelings.
However - she might not know what exactly love is. It is hard to think about what love really means when you're still trying to figure out who you are. She might feel lovingly toward someone, but not necessarily be in love with them. Love is putting someone else first, while keeping yourself fulfilled. Love is giving more when you want to give up, but knowing when to call it quits for the good of both of you. It's hard and easy and wonderful and terrible. And it is difficult to understand no matter how old you are.
So... yes, she could be in love. And there's more than one way to love someone. But it is more likely that she cares about the boy greatly, and thinks it is love. Just don't try to tell her that she isn't.
If you think she's in any sort of trouble, though, TELL AN ADULT.

Can a baby love a mommy or a daddy! Of course a 12 year old can be in love!!! It may not be the most sensible thing that 12 year old has ever done, but she can definetly be in love!!!

yes, i'm 14 and 2 years ago (when i was 12) i meet this guy (now my best friend) and i liked him right away. Turned out he liked me too, he was the first guy i told i loved. Now he's my best friend- i still love him a lot, but unfornatly we're just close friends for the moment.

To my opinion i say no, because shes 12 i mean what does she even know about love? Maybe its just lust...maybe when she gets older she can look back and say what was i thinking i knew nothing about love...but no, i dont think shes in love.

way too young. She has much to learn about herself and she will most likely grow a lot within the next 10-15 years - not just physically but mentally and emotionally.

In my opinion there is no age limit when you can fall in love. but i don't think she is in love. Because when your in love with somebody you can't change your mind. She is still young. But maybe just maybe she really love this guy. i guess she's just young and in love. : )

Yup, definitely. I was in love when I was twelve. My first boyfriend. F*cker cheated on me with 6 other girls, though. >_< And if she's mature, then definitely yes.

she may REALLYREALLY like the guy, but it's not love.
love is different.
love is indescribable.
love is for people older than 12.
don't put your friend down by saying she's too young, but don't get her hopes up, either.
