Al Gore does live up to what he preaches. You just need to dig beyond the corporate right wing media echo chamber to find out.The Swiftboaters attack on Al Gore after his Academy award for An Inconvenient Truth, is not being done by a "non-partisan, independent" organization. Tennessee Center's President Drew Johnson comes straight out of the right's network, coming from Exxon-funded American Enterprise Institute and the right-wing-funded National Taxpayers Foundation. If you look at the links at the website for The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, you will find links to only far right leaning organizations like the Competitive Enterprises Institute, the Cato Institute, and The Heritage Foundation to name a few. The TCPR is part of a national network of state-based right-wing organizations in 37 states as well as prominent nationwide right-wing organizations.

Through its network SPN advances the public policy ideas of the expansive right-wing political movement on the state and local level http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_102512.asp Kalee Kreider, his environmental adviser, told the Guardian that "you can attack the messenger but the message remains the same". She said Mr Gore's fuel bills failed to tell the whole picture. All the energy used for the Nashville home came from a green power provider to the Tennessee Valley that draws its energy from solar, wind-powered and methane gas supplies, among other sources. The Gores were installing solar panels on the roof of their home, Ms Kreider added, and making efforts to reduce their energy needs. Besides, Mr Gore had adopted a "carbon neutral" life whereby any emissions for which he was personally responsible were offset by buying green credits such as parcels of forests.

"The point about vice-president Gore is that he's devoted 30 years of his life to educating people about global warming. That says something about the man," she said. Laurie David, the producer of An Inconvenient Truth, said that the furore was only to be expected. A leading global warming campaigner, she is familiar with criticism of this kind having been called a "jetstream liberal" for using private planes. "What this lame attempt to discredit Al Gore tells me is that we are winning. This is comedy at its best - it's straight out of the David Letterman show." http://environment.guardian.co.uk/energy/story/0,,2022934,00.html The family car is a hybrid: http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070226/NEWS01/70226055
Global warming has been studied by thousands of scientists and 99% of them agree that much of it is being caused by human activity. You cannot pour millions upon millions of tons of co2 into the atmosphere a year around the planet and not expect consequences

....I've followed Gore since the 1980's and this has always been his passion...the environment. He's not a hypocrite on this matter. He's researched it extensively and he lives it. He's even written a book about it in the 1990's. Wake up people. You can deny Global Warming all you want. You can deny Global Warming is not caused by human action. But the scientific evidence says otherwise.

Fact: The Gore family is rich. Filthy rich. They own Occidental Petroleum. They live in not one but several huge houses. (He is gonna install solar... what is taking so long?) These houses use a fortune in fuel to air condition and heat. He flys around in private jets. Have you any idea how much fuel that wastes? He drives around in full sized SUV's.

Now ask yourself one question. If the guy is really scared to death the the world has got a fever, why is he still wasting so much energy?

There can only be one answer. HE KNOWS IT IS A LOT OF MALARKEY!!! Please open your eyes and look!

Perhaps an analogy will help. What would you think if someone was telling you that you should buy stock in the ABC company because it is going to be the next Microsoft. He keeps telling everyone to buy their stock as fast as they can.

Then you find out that he is selling that stock. Wouldn't that look a little odd to you? Yet this clown uses more fuel to take one airplane ride then you and everyone you know use in a year.
Doesn't this seem odd? Never mind what he says. What does he actually do?

"The point about vice-president Gore is that he's devoted 30 years of his life to educating people about global warming. That says something about the man," she said. Laurie David, producer of An Inconvenient Truth...

First of all, 30 years ago there was still talk about Global Cooling. It was the headline in Time Magazine and was the hot topic. Secondly, if Al Gore was the leading proponent why didn't he start living a "Carbon Neutral" (Gawd I hate that term) lifestyle years ago? Instead it was only when his recent popularity based on his Science Fiction movie cast the bright lights on him that he decided to convert some of his opulent energy usage to greener sources. And the rest of his attempt at lowering his CO2 output has been put on the backs of the rest of us that cannot afford to buy "Carbon Credits" to offset his incredibly above average usage(lets face it, his electricity usage in one month is equivalent to a lot of families entire yearly consumption and that doesn't even contemplate his natural gas usage).

So if Mr Gore, inventor of the Internet and Global Warming, wants to get some recognition for his efforts he needs to walk the walk, not just talk it.

TRUTH: Al Gore is a horse's ***. He's a lying hypocrite. He's lying about the causes of global warming; he NEVER 'invented the internet'. I would trust a shifty-eyed used car salesman before I trust Al for anything. That's the TRUTH

I'm sorry but is hard to take him seriously when his electric bill last year was more than some families even earn in a year and yet he wants them to cut back on their energy consumption. And then when he starts going on about the "earth has a fever...the earth has a fever!" Well that makes him sound like a nut....much like when he claimed to have invented the internet....Sorry but he zero credibility to me and thank goodness he has zero credibility to most other people as well.

Don't believe any of that bs about Gore and global warming, that shlub uses 22 times the energy the average citizen uses. This is in his Tennessee mansion alone. If this is the best that Democrats can come up for the 08 elections, which I doubt he even stands a chance, we will see four more years of a Republican in office....Can you give me HELL YEAH!!!YESSSSSS!!!!

MY GOAL IS TO GET AT LEAST EIGHT "THUMBS DOWN", go ahead, make my Republican dreams come true.

Yes llitrix, I did read it, all you did is copy and paste. I just don't believe it.

Global warming is a joke. All of the planets have global warming right now.

Most global warming theorists have never heard of the term "solar variability". Solar variability caused the earth to leave the ice age in less than 20 years, and it caused the earth to have a little ice age several hundred years ago.

NASA: "Rapid changes between ice ages and warm periods (called interglacials) are recorded in the Greenland ice sheet. Occurring over ONE OR TWO DECADES, the warming of the Earth at the end of the last ice age happened much faster than the rate of change of the Earth’s orbit."
NASA link:http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/Study/Paleoclimatology_Evidence/Images/gisp2_temperature.gif

NASA data has proved that the "Little Ice Age" was caused by less light reaching the earth ("solar variability", which means changes in the sun).

NASA's data about the little ice age. http://tinyurl.com/227h3p or ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/da... (This data can be copied and pasted it into Excel to chart it.)

Other facts:
1) 6,000 years ago, the earth was hotter than it is today. 6,000 years is less than a second when compared with the age of the earth.
2) Temperatures dropped in the 1950's and 1990's when CO2 levels were increasing.
3) 140,000 years ago the earth had record CO2 levels and there were no gasoline powered cars.
4) 20,000 years ago, Canada was one big ice cube and half of the U.S. was covered with Ice. The grand canyon was formed by melting ice ages over 20 million years.
5) The temperature of the Earth has only increased by 0.65 of a degree in the last 110 years. There were faster increases in temperatures around 10,000 years ago and there were no gasoline powered cars during that time
6) NASA scientific data has shown most of the changes of temperature are due to changes in the Sun. Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all have global warming right now
7) Also, strong hurricanes are normal. Hundreds of years ago, they used to sink ships off of the coast of Florida.
8) THIS GLACIER DIDN'T EXIST 7,000 YEARS ago. And that was after the Ice Age.
"A few thousand years ago, there were no glaciers here at all"..."Back then we would have been standing in the middle of a forest"
