Well my best friend was raped and I asked for advice... and someone stated that the father could sue for custody.. now the police were called and this was all handled by the law... they know it was sexual assault because he beat on her and he was rough which was seen when she was examined, but is it really possible for the rapist to sue for paternity??
The man was never found though they have his DNA.
Please tell me this isnt true.

That's what you get for living in america. IF she didn't say at the time she was raped and has no proof, i don't know why she would keep that baby, besides the point. Yes he can sue for paternity, Why would she keep it?SO the baby can turn out like the dad!!!!!good luck

We just went over this in my medical ethics class and it depends on your state law. If he is found guilty of raping her he will not be permitted any parental rights. He won't even be able to get visitation.

he could try but because of the nature of the crime, chances are he wouldn't be granted paternity rights.

no it is true sick but true which is why many women in this position choose abortion.i am sorry for your friend and hope she will be ok and he didnt give her some disease as well.good luck.

he can sue..but if there was a police report...I am pretty sure he will be denied
