Sure! Any suggestions? I'm up for anything...maybe Rousseau's anarchy? Or Plato's aristocracy? Or a mix?
Give me a break! The corporations NOT the government rule the world!!! And they are way too strong...just look at Iraq!

The only way a "completely different way" of governing could be accomplished, peacefully, is through a constitutional convention. That means every state would have to agree to send representatives just like the original colonies did. The entire constitution would have to be thrown out and a new one written and every provision agreed to unanimously.
Then it would be sent back to the states for ratification. I would not recommend it.

I like our form of government. But, term limits to get rid of career politicians who lose touch with reality and live in the world of DC would be a positive change. Also, something to take the personal attacks out of politics. Most decent people wouldn't dream of running for office now ....

The Constitution was written with alot of leeway to be changed and adapted to move with the times, but the main point of the Constitution is that the People are in charge. If the People feel the government needs to be changed to better ensure our rights and freedoms, the Constitution guarantees us that right (if you were to try that right now, you'd be labeled unpatriotic by the masses and be stopped by the current government). I forgot his name, but one of the signers of the Constitution didn't approve of it, but saw it as the best alternative.

You'd better have one hell of a plan for a government. The system filled with the checks and balances the US currently has is by far the best system currently available. It may not be perfect, but what is? I'd love to hear some ideas. I really would.

Our Government is required to operate based on a set of laws. To operate differently they would have to re-write the laws and if they conflicted with the Constitution that would have to be amended, which is no easy task.

It would require rewriting (potentially large) sections of the Constitution. Not something to be undertaken lightly.

No.... don't think 'they' would go for it. They're to used to the 'business as usual' and have all their pay-offs and senators in their pockets too deep to change their minds.
