I had a bump behind my ear and sort of an ear ache. I went to the doctor to see what was wrong. She told me it was a lymph node or something like that and I might have and ear infection. I had a problem when she was checking the ear that was hurting. She was cleaning my ear and went way down to what felt like my eardrum. She told me to tell her if it hurt. I told her like 5 times that it hurt really bad but she kept going further down my ear. I thought it was dangerous to put anything smaller than your pinky finger inside your ear, so why did she do that? Could it have been possible for her to hurt the inside of my ear from doing that?

No,it is not likely that she did anything that would hurt you or you would be having unbelieveable pain.
When you get to the ear drum,it hurts like a ^%$% and you would know it if infact she had.
The Dr can put something larger than a pinky in your ear because they know what they are doing and can see what they are doing whereas a person "poking" at their own ear can't and cause damage.
The Dr was probably trying to clean out the ear from ear wax. . .sometimes people produce so much ear wax that it is next to impossible to see the eardrum to see if there is infection behind it and I suspect that this is what she was doing.
The fact that it hurt is probably because there is an infection in there and because of that,it probably has pressure behind the eardrum which can travel up the ear canal and make even the slightest touch seem unbearable.
I would betcha she prescribed some antibiotics when she was done with the ear cleaning because now she could see the eardrum and the infection behind the eardrum.

Yep.
It is a thin metal or plastic tool that scrapes the crud out of the outer ear canal so that you can see the eardrum. OMG it really hurts cuz the canal is super sensitive. Sometimes the wax is so crusted and hard it is hard to scrape off. When that happens it is the kind and nice thing to stop trying to scrape it and just try to flush it out with water or wax dissolver.

But no, it isn't dangerous. Even if it went all the way in and punctured the ear drum (which I am sure it didn't) it would just heal back over again. But that being said, don't try this at home, cuz you need to be able to see in to see what you are doing.

Just because it hurt doesn't necessarily mean she should stop. If your ear (or the lymph node behind it) is infected, of COURSE it's going to hurt. Pain may actually be a good sign that the infection hasn't damaged something, plus the doctor can find out just exactly where the infection is located.

The doctor is a trained care-giver. Plus, she can see what she is doing in your ear (as opposed to you doing it yourself).

She has to get in there to see how far down the infection had spread. She was trying to help you. Medicine is not fun but it would be worse if you lost your hearing to an ear infection.

Dr was trying to see how far back the irritation was as it could be in your inner ear as well =this can also tell her how strong of an antibiotic to give you to heal it

Sounds painful, and though I'm not it the medical profession, I would like to think that your physician knows what she's doing - I sure hope so.
