I know this has been asked many, many times before, but I'd like to hear your take on it.
As an artist, I could not live without one. I would probably choose to be deaf, and then I would live life as a miserable zombie.

I would rather be deaf. Without sight, I wouldn't be able to read or write very easily.

As a partially deaf girl who loves music and sound, yet is a writer of novels and screenplays, you would think this would be a hard choice for me.
However I don't even have to think about it. I'd rather be blind. Because I can learn braille and I can picture things I've already seen in my head, but I would hate to live in a world without sound. I love music too much.

Ugh, either way sucks. But I'd rather be deaf. It would be hard to live without music, but I'm sorta scared of the dark. Plus, to not be able to see your children grow up and stuff like that, it must be awful. And TV has captions.

I think most people would (like me) prefer to be deaf (if we had to choose)
We live in such a visual society that we could function easily with sight and no hearing.
My applause goes out to those that go through life with only the light in their soul to guide them.

I couldn't choose. I have thought about it each time I have heard it asked and I could not choose which to give up. I suppose I would cope either way but I could not pick which I need more. To never see or hear my children, see nature, hear music, I would die trying to make up my mind.

Deaf, definitely.
I am correctably legally blind without glasses or contacts, and when I am without them, I am reminded of how lucky I am that it is still correctable. You can make your own music, but you can't make your own light.

I could live without staring at my computer screen for days on end, but I could not live without listening to my iPod.
So the answer is, incurably blind.

That's a tough one, but i would have to pick deaf. you can see your kid grow up and you can read lips.
