Everyone has an "Adam's Apple." It is the thyroid cartilage in the front of the throat. In men, it tends to be more prominent, but in can be in women too. It is normal and your friend shouldn't worry about it.

Your 'friend' huh? (wink) (wink), j/k. Yes EVERYONE has an adams apple! Its simply , a chunk of bony cartilage that's wrapped around the larynx. Mens adams apples stick out more because of our larger voice boxes, hence the reason we have deeper voices. She will just have to wear turtle knecks year round.

Adam's apples occur in women, it's just not very common.

I don't know what to say about covering it up other than turtle necks or something of the like. But who would want to wear those all the time?
