The Civil War i would rewrite. It should have ended differently, with the racial hatred and prejudice which persists, it wasn't a good thing to partake in and have the consequences so unsatisfactory to so many people.
There persists such an attitude on the East Coast it is as if the Civil War never ended. Lincoln and his choices, at least the implementation of his intentions are highly overrated. Someone better informed with communicating to the governing politicians his wishes to implement freedom, could have done this legally and satisfactorily, with less fighting and loss of life, and much less resentment. Economically, there were much better solutions available than the Civil War. I sometimes prefer life on the Pacific because of this. The different races are much more accepting and respectful of each other. Thank you.

History is written from the perspective of the ruling class and the victor. I would write it in a manner that wasn't so biased and didn't favor European perspective. That would be more significant for the USA especially since all of this countries founding fathers weren't all the same people from the same origins. It's just that not all of our founding fathers received credit for their contributions, and the history books in our educational institutions reflect that bias.

Rewrite history..? So change the facts of how it really happened, in order to mislead the masses? I wouldn't as the government does that enough as it is.

The slavery legacy would not exist. People would not have exploited others through their own hypocrisy, but would have been good examples and practice what you preach.
But I guess that kind of goes for all times, doesn't it. People fail miserably at times, and at times are incredibly heroic and noble. More of the good, less of the bad would be my choice.
