My honest (emotional) answer is No. However, the rational person in me says yes. We have so many things in this country that we take for granted - all funded by our tax dollars.

Clean water to drink, roads, schools that are free and available to everyone, hospitals, our military that protects us - just to name a few.

I know there is waste. That's the nature of such a large country that tries to do everything. However, I just wish that I could designate just a small portion of what I pay in taxes to a cause that is important to me and take just a pinch of that money away from areas that I dislike.

I know that's impossible and it's rather selfish of me to want. However, I'll just stick with wishing I could pay just a tad bit more and designate where it went. That would make me happy.

Worth it? You'll have to expand on what you mean by "worth it"? Is the only other option to start a revolution?

There is nothing I hate more than paying taxes, but in the long run, I think it all comes together to help make the nation that much stronger. I'd be a fool if I claimed there was no corruption in the government and more importantly, government spending. However, we have to learn to take the bad with the good sometimes. I am sure there are people out there who are laughing at me. I shrug at you! :)

hell hell hell NO ANYONE that thinks taxes are worth it at all has never taken a good government college course. do you have ANY idea how much money is wasted by the government every year? Have you ever heard of earmarking? It is a practice by senators to attach needless expenditures of money to bill that are being passed in the senate in order for them to support the bill. It gives money to a senator's home district where the people that voted for him are so that he'll get reelected. For instance, in a bill about abortion being passed in the senate one senator refused to lend his support unless congress would grant one million dollars to a town that voted for him so it could build a bridge even though it already had a bridge. Then there was the couple million spent on parks in a small town, and these things are not related to the bills they are in at all and they just make it seem like the congressman is doing something for his contingency.
The amound of money they waste, the poor quality of government services and the judicial system digust me considering that they get trillions per year.

Is the government we pay taxes worthy of the taxes we pay, using them to the best of all possibilities? No, but what is payed, if in some way made better than would have been, then that may have given us the possibility for having better wisdom in future.

No, because i feel they are not used for the right reasons. If they were used more to help Americans I would not mind paying them at all. To much of our tax money is given to other countries for inappropriate reasons when our money is needed right here at home. Did you know that New Orleans and the southern coast of Louisiana is for the most part unliveable? That needs to be fixed. Many businesses are still closed from Katrina and thousands of our own people are not able to go home. That is not right. There are over 1 million children in our country who go to bed hungry every night. We have millions of people wandering the streets homeless! We have elderly people on social security who eat dog food because it is affordable. That is appalling. We have many eldery people who can either buy food or buy their medicine but can not afford both. That is down right disgusting! I know of an elderly man who has had two minor strokes because he can not afford his medicine and his wifes, so he gets hers and pretends to take his every day. So, back to your question, my answer is emphatically NO!!

Some of them are worth it. I don't like the taxes that go to the making of mass destructive weapons. But that is not my call.

No, they are a complete waste of money. It is like taking money and throwing it away. If people had more money, they could spend more. Thus, the economy would rise. With such high taxes, the economy falls.

I wouldn't mind paying taxes as long as it went to US citizens for their needs.

It seems like a mute question since there is no choice. But for the most part I would have to say yes
