But, I'm sorry to say. I don't think they have the fan support to have an NHL team. Maybe a minor league team, like the ECHL or as high as the AHL, but not the NHL. I understand they got the ice and they have an arena, but how big is it? Is it 17,000+ seat for hockey? I don't think there are very many in the league under that 16,500-17,000 mark. Sorry, I don't think it will happen any time soon.

To the nutjob up there. OK Carolina sold out tonight but it was ipso facto a play-off game. Every game is right now for them. Where are their fans when they stink?? AAHH, you don't remember not to long ago when they DID STINK and were drawing 7 or 8 thousand on certain nights. That said, I don't know if Maine has a large enough rink or for that matter city. What is their biggest city? Portland maybe, but 60 or 70 thousand residents is not enough to have a hockey team. Heck, you need atleast 6 or 700 thousand people.

To the Nutjobs attacking Carolina- the game tonight was a sellout. And it's not the playoffs yet. And how many of those does, oh, say New Jersey get?
Maine should. It's certainly a market, But right now there don't seem to be any on the verge of moving. Nashville in a year or two perhaps... Unless they win the cup. Florida might go in a few years too...

Honestly...I'd think Maine should have a team rather than like Carolina. Carolina couldnt even sell out for the PLAYOFFS. Maine is close enough to Canada where im sure theyd get a lot of fans.
