Hi. Both of your first answers are right according to current theory. Curiously, this 'inflation' exceeded the speed of light and is the only exception I have ever read about. The final size at the end of the inflation was about the size of a grapefruit, I've read.

The Inflation Theory for sure. It theorizes the the entire universe's expansion occured very rapidly at first, but then slowed down some.
