Why did you accept a credit note in the first place?
Was it a goodwill gesture, rather than a statutory claim?
Anyway, it's valid for six years unless otherwise restricted.

Well, they've got your money and they gave you a credit voucher for it, so I think they should honour it, especially if there's no expiry date on it.
Try the Trading Standards department of your local council, or if it's a chain of shops, contact their head office - customer services.

In most US states, store credit slips MUST have no expiration date. It's YOUR money!

Unless they can show that their policy AT THE TIME was that they only honored those for 6 months, and show that you knew it, I think you have them :) Hope you don't have to take them to court.

If you can prove that they printed it without a date, then they should honour it!
