To name some of the stuff I consider to immature for a 14 year old:
he runs around the house wearing only his underwear
he walks outside the house in only a shirt and underwear to get the mail
he screams around the house like a little kid playing with a toy
hes small and looks like he is 9 sure this cant be helped but he dresses immature
Despite all of this he does great in school gets only A ands Bs but no Cs on his report card
How does he get such good grades when he never bothers to study and usually copies off others?!
Do you consider the way hes acting normal? (I know he still can be considered young but isnt this crossing the line)
Should I do anything about it? or just let him be?

Ivory_plr or w/e i think i got the same right. Special ed if you have read the question it said he gets All A's and B's on his report card and does take one advanced class... I know its annoying to read the entire question (Yes Im guilty of it so I wont go to hard on you) But try to break this habit...because then you'll better answer the question leading to well a better chance of winning best answer

Well I have a 14 year old daughter AND a 14 year old sister and I can tell you for a FACT they do not act that way. Both of them do kid around sometimes but not 24/7.Maybe give it another day or so and if he doesn't improve try talking to him and if that doesn't happen then I suggest you call the doctor.I could only say it's most likely a development delay or a brain problem.I could agree this is crossing the line a little bit.If he's acting this way CONSTANLY then it is a problem if not don't worry too much.I think you should call the doctor and tell him/her what you just told us.

Based on those things you said, I think he has ADHD. (Attention Deficit hyper activity syndrome). This disorder usually happens more to boys than girls. Being THAT hyperactive is a sign. And getting A's at that rate is also a sign since people with ADHD usually has above average or superior intelligence. Or maybe just the typical guy "growth delay" immaturity. But it's alarming that he goes out of the house in his undies and a shirt only! I have a brother who's like that too. But he doesn't scream around the house or goes out in undies though. He gets high grades too without studying. Like, consistent A plusses in math, scouting and PE! (99). Those are just theories though. I advice that bring him to a psychologist for sure answers.

It's probably just a phase, although the running around the house in his underwear is kind of wierd. And I am the same age as him and I get straight A's and I never study because I just have a photographic memory, so I wouldn't consider the good grades to be one of the "immature" things

He's just immature. There are going to be situations in life that are going to make him a man.
He just didn't experience those things yet. Once he experiences things like:
1) Getting a girlfriend
2) Getting dumped
and so on.
If he keeps copying of off others he will see that copying would not work anymore, he's going to realize that he's lying to his parents and him.

males mature at a slower rate than females do.. his state of mind right now he probably thinks is up to par because alot of boys his age are probably doing the same things..you should just let him be, he is probably content with the way he is and probably wont know how embaressing it was until he has matured...if youre embaressed by it, then just tell your friends that he is nine..then it wouldnt be such a surprise...

This is normal... boys do take longer to mature than girls do, but don't let this effect how you treat him
If you are constantly yelling at him to grow up... this may help although may not appear to be and if you are just ignoring him continue to do so or else he may think you are just randomly being a jerk to him
also get used to this behavior... boys are at this stage for a LONG time!

Boys act like they are 9, until they are 40. Sometimes later. Noting you can do about it.

My husband is 48, and he still does all of those things. Even the getting the mail in his underwear, but usually he also wears his slippers.
