one of my friends...she has had a complicated life... and now the other day.. her dad hit her... a few times... and she only told us (her friends) and doesn't want to tell anyone else because her dad threatened to sent her off to a private school in south carolina if she does...one of my best friends offered right then and there to let her drive home with them and let her have one of the bunks... except my best friend.. is a guy..

He's the only person with room for her.. and she needs to leave that house... but is it inappropriate for her to move in with him?

i dont think so.. because i know he's not like 'that' and i've stayed the night with him before... and it was fun! it was like a sleep over with any of my other friends who are girls!

but some people (our other friends) think its a little innappropriate.

ok.. the deal is.. her mom got pregnant, the dad ran... and her mom got married right after she was born... so he's actually her ex-stepdad... but he's on her birth certificate and he's the only dad she's ever had... she lived with her mom in missouri untillher mom decided she didnt want her.. so she went to live with her older sister (whose dad.. coincidentally is our principal.. which is who she NEEDS to go to.. cuz he sees her like a niece sort of) in Colorado.. her sister finally ran out of money and the social workers made her leave.. so she went to her dad' place.. her step mom is mean.. but this is the only time he's ever hit her.. he said he was soo sorry.. but it coud happen again. he has a bad temper..i mean. .he gave her a black eye! she wants to go back to her sister.. so she needs someone to stay with for at least a few months.. untill the summer and her sister gets stabalized.. because her mom doesnt love her and doesnt want her back.

I think it depends on the age. I myself have the same situation with my mother, but I am not of a legal age so I cannot leave. And I AM in boarding school. It's actually alot better then being at home.
I think, since it seems platonic, that she should stay with him. Anything should be done to get her out of that situation, even if other people may frown at her staying with a guy, it's better then getting beat. But in the end the decision is hers.

She needs to get out of the situation as soon as possible. She should really tell authorities and have him arrested. Moving in with someone else is only a very temporary situation and doesn't solve anything. It is OK for a day or two but it would probably be more than that so I say no. she has to tell authorities as soon as possible and seek mature advice on how to proceed.

How old is your friend? If she is of age and has a job she should look for alternative living arrangements. Where is her Mother is this issue? If the abuse is out of control - call the Police. I understand dicipline, but not hitting in the form you are talking about. All children require dicipline ... don't confuse it with abuse if this is all it is. Maybe it is that she is rebelious and he is threatening her to snap her out of a path he is trying to spare her from. I really depends on the situation.

Good luck!

It's more illegal than inappropriate. You didn't say how old she is but unless she's 18 or over, the cops will drag her back home and her dad will have even more of a reason to hit
her. Get written permission from her dad first, have him Date
it, maybe he even Wants to get rid of her, who knows?

If there is no romatic feelings and its laid out that no sexual contact will happen and she trusts him i dont see aproblem she needs a place to stay and she needs to get out of the situation at home asap.

why tempt nature? if there is a girl in a room and there is a guy in same room in time they will be in same bunk. think about it and don't kid yourself about it either.
