Do you stay in the dark or do you turn on some candles?
I stay in the dark. But that's just me. (I know my house pretty well, plus it's entertaining since there's nothing else to do anyways!)
I just start running, hoping I trip on something, ya know, just for fun.

Light lots of candles and break out the board games!

As I have a young child I would definetly find a torch, so they would be safe. I would be worried about candles as she is at the age where she is in to everything, and would find a way to burn herself. I have not had this problem for a long time though, probably 15 years since I had a blackout that lasted more than a few seconds, when it was dark outside (a couple during the day - I just opened the windows).

Usually i use a candle or a flashlight. If the power is out in the night though, when i go to sleep i stay in the dark

I have to reach for a candle. Although, sitting in the dark is enjoyable, I don't have that luxury. My daughter would go bonkers. Of course, before I had my daughter, when the power would go out, I would just use that as an excuse to get loaded. LOL Still, nowadays, when the power goes out, that doesn't mean anything. We have our battery powered laptops and ipods and cell phones and all that jazz. Who needs electricity anyway?

I'd prefer to stay in the dark but my mom insists on putting candles on. I think candles make the situation creepy.

I always light candles.. but if there's an outage due to a thunderstorm, I'll stay in the dark and just watch the sky/lightening. I love thunderstorms.

Depends how long the power is out for and what time of year !
If its just a little while, the dark is okay.
If it's too long, we have flashlights and candles,and we crank up the generator !
Boy am I tired ! I'm just full of blah blah blah tonight !

lol that sounds like fun running in the dark. I usually try and find some light source when I'm in the dark or else I'd listen to music in the dark that would be cool.

Sit in the dark for a little bit, until it's obvious the power's not coming right back on. Then if it's nice out I'll sit on the balcony. If not, I'll light some oil lamps.
