the meaning of funny farm?

OK i always thought funny farm was a slang term for mental hospital. but this girl just called me a Nazi saying that farm means concentration camp. is she right?

Its a slang term for an mental asylum, or a nuthouse, if you prefer.

Absolutely nothing to do with Nazis or concentration camps. That girl has no idea what shes talkin about.

No, she's loopy, she belongs in a funny farm.

It IS slang for mental institution.
