That's a good question; thousands upon thousands of internet users are posting private and public diaries on the internet (known as blogs or web-logs) for themselves or for the whole world to see. There are many websites, some professional and used mainly by adults, and others that are used primarily by high school and college students.
Here is a sample of them, most of which I personally have used in the past or are currently using:
-Myspace http://www.myspace.com
This is a "social networking" website, which allows you to post photos and videos, personalize your page using web code (a complicated, but neat feature), network with college and non-college friends, and post blogs
-Facebook http://www.facebook.com
This is another social networking website, which is reportedly safer than Myspace, has less features than Myspace, and is used primarily by students (high schools were recently allowed to use it, and non-students are the most recent addition). You can post photos, connect other profiles to yours through photos (called "tagging a photo"), and write blogs (called "notes" on Facebook).
-Xanga http://www.xanga.com
This is almost exclusively a blog website. Photos can be posted in the blog if you are a premium subscriber (blogging is free for normal users). It is a basic website, but has neat features.
-Blogger http://www.blogger.com/start
This blog website is mainly used by adults, and has a more professional appearance. I just began using this site, and I like some of the features it has, which includes being able to see how many blogs you or other users have posted on a specific subject. You can design your own blog web address (example: doogiehouser.blogspot.com, TXFirefighter.blogspot.com, et cetera).
Each site has it's pros and cons, but Myspace is known universally for it's lack of security. Phishers (hackers who steal your login and password information) and internet predators are common on MySpace. If you have a large network of friends currently in school, I recommend Facebook. If you are an adult, I recommend Blogger.
