I currently am trying to get a job at a large company where a close friend of mine is a supervisor. In fact if i get it he just might end up being my boss. If this happens i am going to tell him up front i dont expect any special treatment. If i mess up-to treat me like anyone else and there will be no hard feelings.
As long as both parties handle things as such there should be no problems.

Only if you can fire her too. You know what I mean, if you can't see yourself firing her if she is not a good employee then no, but if you have no problem with firing her if need be then do it...also make sure not to give her special treatment...you are the boss at work and after work you are friends

Only if both of you are mature enough to keep your personal relationship and your professional relationship separate. If not, conflicts on the job might cause you to lose your wonderful friendship. Please consider this very carefully before you make such a serious decision.

I would have no problem with it. But you must be firm and upfront with your friend that on the clock you are the boss, he/she is the employee. In other words no special privileges. And stick by that.

I would say it would be ok as long as your friend understands you are the boss at work and a friend outside of work.

I think it could be beneficial to have someone that you know and trust working for you.

If you can picture yourself FIRING the person, then yes, hire her/him. If not, hell to the no!
