I've got dafodils, and glads, and expect to dig them after they're done blooming and die back, and then replant them ???in the fall?
I guess I'm asking how you prepare them for an indeterminate storage time...like the stores that sell them do. Thanks

dig, dry, get dirt off, cut off tops, put in brown paper sack and put in your refrigerator in the bottom drawer, no fruit in the same drawer, when you are ready to plant take out and go. If you have bunches of bulbs put in paper sacks and put in a box in a cool spot in your garage until you are ready to plant. Might want to dust with an insect repellent in the garage.

Bulbs and tubers are very forgiving. After they die back, dig them out. Depending on how many we are talking about, I'd buy a short plastic box (thinking Christmas shirt sized box) and drill holes in the bottom so there is some air circulation. Throw them in there until you are ready to replant.

Through them in a ziploc bag and keep them at a decent temp. Don't let them get too cold or too warm. Make sure you mark what bag is what. Otherwise you may forget. Don't let them get moist. They may restart if they do. That is what i did and it worked. But also cant let them die out. Then when you replant make sure to use potting soil to start them in. Also replant while it is still cool over night. That will help trigger them that it is time to grow again.

Make sure you put them in a container big enough to hold their roots. I would put them in potting soil in a bucket and give them plant food every couple of weeks.

I agree with lilabner, but if you have to put them in the garage, make sure the garage is very cool.
