I like the idea of teaming up with the other 3rd party / independents. You could pool all the funds, come up with a viable candidate that shares views from all of your joint parties. Have the candidate go OUT into communities, talk to people, find out how they feel, what's important to them.
Another idea would be to "appoint" volunteers to spread messages in each city, hold meetings, place ads in local papers, run petitions, etc.
Find out where there are book clubs, quilting bees, and other gatherings of people, place flyers everywhere that you can, don't forget the bars! Have your local appointees do this job in their own town/area as they would know the best places to advertise fast.
Print brochures so everyone can become acquainted with the Libertarian platform. Stay away from the negative advertising, and don't be negaive abou the two mainline parties. Stick to the ideas and goals of the party, and listen to the people.
If half the citizens in every city of at least 30,000 population donated at least $1, then there would be tons of money to use, and then you would be "bought" by the People, rather than by corporations.

Spend more money.
Honestly, I don't mean for that to be sarcastic...Democrats and Republicans are so prominent because they are backed by huge corporations, raise money by speaking at $500 a plate dinners all over the country, and advertise like crazy.
We've had recent governors and senators from the Libertarian parties. And our country has seen presidents from other political parties too.
Just my two cents, in this day and age if your views aren't being prominently displayed in the media, the average person won't know and thus won't support your cause.

the FCC must put the anti-trust laws back in place that they removed. The mainstream media is owned by too few people
the mainstream media will keep ignoring the libertarian party until they are corrupted by corporate money.

Hold rallies in VERY public forums during peak hours, Advertise on the radio and tv, get the people out there to inform the masses. It's all about marketing, after a sense.

We need more news outlets to give them a platform to speak.
They need to produce much literature in order to educate people on the issues/platform they stand for. Like another poster stated...money will produce many results.

Unfortunately, it seems like money talks...hopefully word of mouth with a great candidate someday will change some minds.

Speak out. Hold rallies. Pay for advertising time.
All the things that any group needs to do to be heard.
