I'm planning on buying a new drum kit, but I can't decide which company I should get it from. I'm not a beginner, I just haven't tried many different sets, so I don't know which is best. I've been looking at Pearl, Ayotte, Gretsch, and a few others. Also, which type of kit from the company would be helpful (ie pearl masters or export series, etc) thanks for the advice.

First of all check out ( interstatemusic.com). good prices. then decide on your budget and the kind of sound you want to make. Deep, sharp, strong projection, low tonal ect. The descriptions of the kits on the web site will tell you what to expect. Pearl, Tama, DW, ect, use different woods and numbers of veneers to achieve different sounds. Choose one you like best within your financial ability.

Ok I don't know if I can be a whole ton of help but my friend told me to get either Ludwig or Yamaha. ( I want to play drums sometime soon) But my friend told me to check out this web site:

www.musiciansfriend.com

They have a ton of stuff (kindda pricey but they are the big name brands). Good Luck getting a new drum set.

Best drum kit: Sonor Signature. Try it, you'll love it.

Mucho dinero required, though - if you want it considerably cheaper, but nearly the same sound and quality: Sonor Phonic Plus.

Either makes big booms and bangs.
