All of these things matter very much, and I can see why they weigh you down. It's ok to focus on the beautiful things in life, waterfalls, your sig. other's cologne, the taste of berries...there is also a lot of Very Good in this world, too, that is meant to be enjoyed.

I know what you mean. Sometimes the sorrows of the world really get to me, too. You might need to do what I did....for a few months, I just had to turn off the news, the CNN, the Dateline NBC, newspapers, news magazines....anything that tends to showcase the bad stuff going on in the world. True, you risk being somewhat uninformed for awhile, but it definitely helps to give your brain (and heart) a break every now and then. Other than that, just do what you can to involve yourself in volunteer work and other things that will help you feel like you're making at least a little bit of a "hands-on" kind of difference. I find it helps a lot more than just writing a fat check to a charity or whatever (even though that's great too, of course.) Good luck, and be happy !

I understand exactly how you feel...Sometimes i wonder if i should have brought my children into a world like this...But i cry about the sad things and i pray and meditate to help me locate the good in my life and others around me....I do my best to help someone whether it is with a smile, compliment, words of encouragement, prayer, donation, hug or what ever...But you have to find an outlet, you can not let it consume you or you will become depressed...Continue to do your good and stay compassionate but learn to let go when there's nothing else to do and you've done all you can...I don't know if you believe in God, if so pray, pray for others and their situations and pray for your own strength and joy so that you can continue to be a blessing to others....thank you for at least caring and making a difference....just think without people like you where would this world really be?

I know how you feel. But I've come to realize that we cant carry all this weight on our shoulders. we are not superhuman and one single individual cant change the entire world, but what matters is what "you" can do in your life and that of those reachable to you. try to do what you can to help others, even if at first it seems hopeless in the long run it makes a big difference in someones life. Have you watched the film "Pan's labyrinth's" i recommend it because it has a great message, that sometimes we must look beyond the monstrous side of life, people and things around us to try to find the beauty and peace that is there ....like water in the dessert for those who thirst.

this religion will make u realize that the world is truly not everything and sometimes, to me it seems that the most important things in other people's lives is sometimes the least important in mine
yes the world is slowly becoming a more and more horrible place, but come on, get real all these campaigns to help save global warming, stop child abuse, whos gonna listen very few people do, but what do those few people try to do to actually express how they feel about this?
so just reseach this pure way of life, please, just look at the world, and see how it relates

There are many like yourself, especially in the relative comfort of first world societies. The problem is not new (in many ways, it was worse in earlier human history). But what we all can do is do our best to improve the condition of at least 10 people during our lifetime. Keep busy by helping others.

actually everything in this world does make me sad, i guess of the concept of "unfairness", i tried to be nice and positive to others such as my friends and families, but i never get it back. i believe in the concept of karma, i thought if i be nice, you would get it back, but thats not what i am getting back. peopl are changing in so many ways for themselves, becoming more self-fish, reputation, etc. for these changes, people are putting a mask over themself and it causes harm to others who dun deserve it.
for you, never give up on what you are doin right now, as long as you are doing charity and other positive movements for the society, it never be enough because there are little people like you out there, many are becoming more self-fish like i said, but it is better than nothing. you shouldn't even feel helpless or depress from the feelings of 'not doing enough', when you think baout it, there is never a limit or full satisfaction for others. so what you are doing, such as charity and stuff is better than nothing. so keep it up.

The world has always been like this...and all you can do is what is in front of you. That is all you can do. If everyone did that...it would be a better place. Think about it.
