I am not sure what you are asking, but once kidney failure starts it is a matter of hours or days with veterinary support.

The run time ?? take affect ?
Kidney failure can occur with in a few weeks or a dog can survive years with know kidney damage it depends on what caused it ands its severity , a dog with known kidney problems can be put on a special diet and live a normal happy life for years ..
Bottom line ... there is no Run Time .. each case is different but if you suspect your pet has a problem then don't waste time here get it to a vet ...

Hi Ginny. I assume you are worried about the pet food wheat gluten problem. Your vet can provide a test that determines if there is a problem or not, and the severity if there is. I hope not and good luck!

If it's from a toxin, it's going to start fairly quickly. Some pets have died within a few hours..

It really depends on the cause? It can be quick or take a while and be excruciatingly painful. Why? Your question seems incomplete.
