According to the US Census web site, Hispanics are the majority race in Los Angeles and Phoenix, along with several other major US cities. So far, California is the only state with Hispanics being the population majority.
Just like the Irish and other immigrants brought us St. Patricks day and other cultural aspects, with the Hispanic people, comes the Hispanic culture and foods.
Personally I think the marriage of the cultures is a good thing as long as we pick the good like food and holidays and leave the bad like machismo and political corruption.

There maybe alot of spanish speaking, but Mexico is nothing like Los Angeles! NOTHING! I think mexico gets a bad reap for all the shitty people that are american and everyone thinks they're mexican. A lot of them don't even speak spanish, nor have they ever been to Mexico.

i don't think that so much. people say places in texas are like that as well, but here in texas we are really proud of this "tex-mex" type of culture we have. it's a dinstinct blend, and having lived in mexico, it's NOT a mexican culture, it's a blend which has created it's own unique culture. i would say with LA especially, that is a chicano culture...hispanics living there (many) have lived there for generations. they are not mexican, they are hispanic americans and they have a unique american culture, many have never lived in mexico at any point in their life.

Religionously- hell yea, and in customs like food, it all depends on where you dine, but the majority I would say yes.

I believe the whole south-west of the US is more Mexicanized and the entire north/north-west of Mexico is Americanized. Its hard to look over at the Smith's house and not be curious what is going on over there, eventually one tries to be more like their neighbor.
