Although I'm a staunch Leafs fan, Brian Leetch very quickly became my favourite player when he joined the Leafs. He was still my favourite when there was the lockout, and it continued while he played for the Boston Bruins. People have said that Brian couldn't decide on whether or not he wanted to play this year. Some have said he was waiting until the playoffs got closer. We're on the verge of playoffs right now..and there's still no Brian Leetch. Brian wore #22 on his Bruin's sweater, but another player is wearing that number. Has Brian retired, is he working out keeping up his physical fitness? Does anyone know the latest on him? How do I contact the Boston Hockey club to make enquiries if this is possible.
So..Brian Leetch where for art thou???

When I go to the Boston Bruins Hockey Club site to look for information on Leetch, the information is outdated. Surely players don't just disappear off the face of the earth. I'd appreciate any information anyone can offer.

Here's the whole story.... Brian wanted to come back to the Rangers but can not stand Glen Sather the GM, he waited to see if he would offer him a contract worth coming to New York for,is what Sather said. This is from Glen Anderson a good friend of Brian's : Messier was trying to get him to come back to New York set up a meeting with Sather and Brian it did not end well..( I am guessing) So according to Glen Brian was spending time with his wife and kids but still skating everyday and working out in hopes the Rangers would offer him a contract. No one knows if he will retire this year or if the Rangers will give him a contract over the summer and let him come back for the 2 games he needs to be the all time Ranger to have played in games or not but I know I am hoping that he comes back I love Leetch will always love Leetch and will be there the night they take his #2 and hang it where it belongs in the rafters of Madison Square Garden.

During the summer of 2006, he had gotten many offers from teams such as the New York Rangers, the Carolina Hurricanes, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Edmonton Oilers. He has turned down many of those deals and is still a free agent today. He has yet to make up his mind if he will retire or play one more season in the NHL. It has been rumored that he may sign with a team for the conculsion of the 2006-07 NHL season, and playoffs.

Part of the problem in New York, they don't need any more defencemen. If Mark Staal has to play another year in junior because of the depth on defence, than why sign Brian Leetch? Well that was what they said at the beginning of the year, but now the way they have flopped up and down in the eastern conference, maybe they should have signed him. Montreal should see if they could get him. Screw the Leafs.

Leech (Best Ranger defenceman ever!!!) Is listed on NHL.com as a Bruin but no stats for this season are listed in his carer stats. I hope he did not fade away all too quietly.

He's still a free agent. He hasn't decided if he'll sign on with a team or retire.
