I used to live in Kansas in the Wichita area for a short time. I know that in the summer and sometimes even during the year, Kansas State University has programs, classes, and performances not only for their students but for people of all ages to perform in. If you didn't know already, that is in Manhattan.
If you are willing to travel a distance, in Wichita they have many theatre and acting groups. Music Theatre of Wichita has auditions every spring for a cast for the new year. They also have summer camps and classes to improve your acting and theatre skills.
I hope you can find something closer to home than Wichita, but if you chose to go to an acting camp there, you can visit there for 2 to 3 months. Music Theatre of Wichita is a great company, and so are others in Wichita as well as Manhattan.
