And don't be a smartass and use a comment to me as an answer. But what's something you said to someone that was so mean and cruel you almost felt bad?

"I hate you" doesn't count, everyone says that.

I told my wife in earnest that she was the worst in bed I'd ever had. It wasn't completely true, but there was a lot of hurt and truth in that statement anyway. She was totally mental. Her dad was mafia. Her mom had banned dad from home for putting the family in a threatening situation. I had no money. She had just started a very intensive job. Basically everything that could go wrong was going wrong and she let it get to her. One way she let it get to her was cutting me off not only sexually but in all manners - no conversation, no social outings, not even grocery shopping together.

That night I couldn't handle the situation any longer. A typical day for me would be to get up early, go to a demeaning job, get home to nobody, make myself dinner, clean house, study, eventually she'd get home from her 12-hour job, she'd glue herself to the TV, maybe talk to a friend, eventually we'd go to bed, no sex, no hugging, no conversation. Repeat. Then add in her massive anger attacks every other day.

One night it just got to me. I blew up. We had had what seemed to be a nice, romantic dinner that night. I thought she might finally lighten up and be in the mood for once. Nope. Right to bed, back to me, nothing. A couple firetruck sirens during the night triggered me. I was restless enough as it was. I got up, paced the room, and yelled at her, telling her how much I couldn't bear the situation any longer. I told her she was the worst woman I'd ever been with, that nobody had such a dead sex drive as her, that I was going through just as much stress as she was, and that she was just making it worse.

That incident led to a few months of involuntary separation, finally ending in divorce.

I shouldn't say it was that incident, because it was really everything that led up to it, that incident itself, and everything after it.

I haven't talked to her since the divorce. She could be dead for all I know. I have absolutely no contact with her, her family, or any of her friends. I live in a different country too.

I may have said worse to people, but that comes to the forefront of my mind.

I am really ashamed to say this but maybe it is the best way to admit MAYBE I was wrong.

When I was a child, the neighboor use to yell at me and my brother for making too much noise in the swimming pool with our friends. It was summertime and during the day.

This went on for a couple of weeks and then I did it....

I said " Look lady, as old and evil as you are the only thing you should be doing praying for forgivness because your going to die soon, so leave us alone and start dealing with your last wishes."

I think it was a little harsh and she dies about 2 weeks after that, so maybe I could have been a little nicer.

Almost felt bad??? You mean felt bad, right? I said " I hate you." I did feel bad, words can hurt as much as a slap. I apologized and I don't talk bad now, I am responsible for what I say.

My style is to set them up when I can so that only they know they have been insulted... everyone else thinks things are wonderful between us because I have been so generous in my praise or generosity.

It is called drowning them in honey. The key is to never sound anything but genuinely concerned or congratulatory, not an iota of noticeable sarcasm.

I have felt bad any time I told any of my children that I was ashamed of them. Of course, those times were brought on by when they did something just awful. That doesn't mean that I don't feel bad about it, though.

I told my mom she was a horrible mother and a horrible influence on me and what right did she think she had parenting me. Made her cry- felt horrible.

Because I actually backed it up with examples and made her believe it =/
