I think the Native Americans would totally disagree with you. The land first belonged to them, NOT the Indians.
Indians come from India.

interesting theory... but which countries of origin? many of us have origins so muddied, there are multiple nations (or even continents) to go "back" to.
Also... imagine if all 40+ million Irish-Americans went back to Ireland? Wouldn't the current Irish suddenly be the new "indians," overcome by foreign invaders? Not to mention many, many other nations.
For better or worse, this is our country of origin now.

Where would that put me?
I am Irish, English, Scottish, Ojibwe, French, and German. And those are just the ones I know of! My great-grandpa was a carni and no one knows where he was from.

hmm. i will stay and convert.
by the way, they don't really appreciate columbus day. my native american friend burns an american flag every columbus day. a little extreme, i know, but i have to agree. so...my family doesn't celebrate it anymore.
