I'm legally blind, and am friends with people who are in various stages of blindness and deafness, beginning with somewhat, and ending in completely.
I of course, prefer the devil I know. I'd rather be blind than deaf if for no other reason than if you are blind, you can still easily be a part of society. You can communicate with anyone easily, unless they are deaf. You can use most of the same things everyone else uses, although special adaptive programs are required for computers. You can go to the same school as everyone else without a translator, although you will undoubtedly have some special classes set aside and may have to order other versions of the textbooks.
Getting around is possible for either a blind person or a deaf person, although i have noticed that a whole lot of YA users seem t think blind people are pathetic shut ins, but it's more dangerous to be deaf. Most warnings in our society are auditory. Think of sirens. And even the ones that are visual, like signs, can be detected by touch.
I'm not precisely sure how this happened, but our society seems to have come to the conclusion that being blind is about the worst thing that can happen to a person. Notice it's the only disability you get a tax break for. Hello? what about paralysis?

the two are approximately equivalent to a factor. The deaf would desire to study lips and that isn't hassle-free with some people. beards mustaches....people look away... The blind while experienced get around exceptionally much as good as maximum. yet do no longer appreciate the magnificent thing on the subject of the failings we see and would desire to apply different senses to compensate. Whats extremely no longer hassle-free is while A blind person starts off to loose their listening to. It offsets their stability much greater... I certainly have a blind chum and a deaf step-brother and have seen the two factors. If I had to p.c.. it may be deaf they have come a protracted way with aids. until eventually they permit stem cellular many would be denied sight. :-(

I myself am Deaf, and I get along pretty well, so to me, being blind would be worse. My disability, for the most part, is invisible, until I have to communicate. In some ways, Deafness is worse than blindness, though, because blindness separates you from THINGS, while Deafness separates you from PEOPLE.

Being deaf is the worse. If you were deaf you could still see but what's the point is you can't hear the birds or music of any sorts? You would just have to make up what you think the sounds were around you. I listen to music at all hours of the day. I can't imagine what it would be like to be deaf.

If you can see this, I would say being blind would be worse. If deaf you can learn to read lips, or sign. There's always closed captioning as well. If you're blind you miss alot of beauty in the world and of course can still communicate!

Blind is alot worse. I love to look at beautiful things and it would just be awful not to see that anymore. As for deaf, I think I am going deaf but I could still read lips and read words.

I think I would rather be blind. Being deaf seems hard. I love to sing and listen to people's voices. Deafness would set me back.

I'd say deaf.
If you're blind, you can still hear, speak, feel and smell.
If you're deaf, you would not be able to speak either because you do not know what kinds of sounds to make... although you can still technically make some sounds. They just would not be easily understandable.
Since not many people know sign-language, deafness limits your communication skills more than blindness effecitvely knocking off two of your senses while blindness knocks off only one.
Deafness is definitely worst than blindness.
