Whatever mechanic says that doesn't know what they are doing...what kind of noise and when is the next question? If the noise repeatedly squeaks, and stops when you hit the brakes, the problem is your sliders in your brake calipers. The squeak is a constant, your rotor and pads are glazed, if the noise is actually a grinding, that would be a sign to replace your brakes. Take it to a GOOD mechanics shop, and have them inspect the noise.

All stratus do that? Time for a new mechanic, my Thunderbird squeaks, but I've had the breaks checked and learned how to stop without them making the noise.

They work, but squeak. If you have warranty find a new dodge dealer, or whoever your mechanic is.

It sounds like your brakes are going bad. How many mechanics have you been to? I would probably go to a few different mechanics and get various opinions. If it is the brake pads getting bad, just get them replaced.

take it to a different mechanic, hell take it to the dealer, you should still have a warranty on it. get your brake pads checked before you have to get new brakes altogether. any car can have squeaky, squealing brakes, not just the stratus.
