Tony Snow said today : Congress Has No "Oversight Responsibility over the White House"

And I have heard other Republicans claim incorrectly that Conrgess cannot subpoena WH officials.

Why won't Republcians read the Constitution for once?

This is no generalization. Read the question. I put in a specific quote from Tony Snow to illustrate my point.

yes, there is the seperation of powers, limiting the specific powers to each branch of the government, but also in effect is the balancing act, that the congress is supposed to balance the judiciary and executive branches, the judiciary is to balance the executive and congressional branches, and the executive ties it all together and balances the whole act. what we have going on now is an executive system that is removing anyone who is against their game plan and filling the judiciary branch with supporters, therefore making it a "2 on 1" if you will. the congress DOES have oversight powers AND responsibilities. The oversight SHOULD have come before now, because this monster has grown too big for its cage...

Actually, making a sweeping comment about a group based on the response of one is a "generalization". Now, I do not want to sway you from using a reference to support your opinion because so few actually take the time to research the foundations of their beliefs. Congress can, in fact, subpoena the white house and the President can, in fact, tell Congress to shove it through the use of executive privilege.

After the liberals. Its them who violate the Constitution, not Replublicans. You show ME where the Congress has oversight over the White House. Its called Seperation of Powers. Something the liberals hark about constantly, but have no stinking clue as to what it means or how it works. Time to get a clue....

Well, Tony Snow clearly never took sixth grade Social Studies class then. Most uninformed Americans are Republicans-their philosophy is to spread so much disinformation and blatant lies that the truth becomes lost or hazy at best.

There is a Republican who does and he is Rep. Ron Paul running for President 2008. Check him out. Watch his videos at capitol hill. He is a true constitutionalist. His voting record proves it and his reputation excedes it. He stands alone in congress when he has to! Check out his issues!

Republicans have managed to brainwash many ignorant Americans into supporting their adgenda thanks to the corporate domination of the media.

Republicans have no interest in knowing how our Government is SUPPOSED to work. That is why they dislike lawyers so much, because they dislike the law.
They only care about advancing their corporatist adgenda and they are more than willing to break whatever laws they have to in order to pursue their adgenda.
