I'm asking because Iowa has Just $1.36 Increase in Cigarette Tax, going from 42 to 17 In Tobacco sales, Its Supposed cover Hospital Costs, but I'm not Buying it.
What states Have Higher Cigarette Taxes then IOWA.

NJ as a state has the highest tax on tobacco $2.575 tax/pack
NY $1.50
NYC has an additional $1.50 so it's $3.00

I believe that NY has the highest cigarette tax in the country. You would pay around $7 a pack (total, not just tax) there on average. CA is pretty high too, averaging around $5 a pack (again, total cost, not just tax).

just moved from mississippi to arizona, in ms a pack of marlboros and salems cost me about 5.50 for the two in arizona the same 2 packs cost 13,00 and some change and t is going up again they say
