It's just harder for colored inks to show with darker skin tones. I know someone who actually had a patch of her skin lightened (some kind of laser treatment) so an awesome tattoo she designed for herself would show better. She's a very dark-skinned Asian-Indian woman.

I haven't really paid that much attention to people's tats but it seems that the number of people with colored tattoes is about the same as the ones with only are only black is around the same across the races

I was going to get color on my tattoo but the tattoo artist said that if you have darker skin getting color is a waste of time because it won't show up as well as it would on someone with lighter skin. There's also the fact that color tattoos fade faster so I'm fine with just getting black ink.

lol...are you serious? I have a tatoo on my boob of a red rose. I have one on my inner thigh with a red tongue, and I have one on my rear that says in small colorful letters, "simply yummy."

THATs TRUE EVERY BODY I KNOW "TATTOOS" ARE WITH JUST PLAIN BLACK INK (plain black ink is cheaper then all that fancy and extra stuff)
