Yeah it does
People called other things and said a lot of stuff thirty years ago that they wouldn't say now
I couldn't care less what that's called its not gonna make anyone any poorer by calling it something different. If calling it a blackboard never caused any offence then what offence will calling it a chalk-board cause

No and it's just another example of 'white' people being totally over the top to prevent offending a 'black' person. Pathetic is what it is - I work for the NHS and we're not allowed to put 'English' on forms anymore it has to be british which is ridiculous as chinese through to polish can be british. The whole idea of these stats was to produce figures for cancers etc in certain groups, laughable.

If the board is black, I call it a Blackboard. If green, a Chalkboard ("Greenboard" to me is a kind of sheet-rock). The white ones for markers is a Whiteboard.
I'm just calling them as I see them. These flat writing devices bare no resemblance to people, so I don't fear insulting anyone.

Uh. . sure. Personally I think they call it a chalk board so easily confused teachers don't use Ink Markers on the board.
In America White people are called "crackers" by our -brethren of African Decent.

Our school black-boards were green, but we still called them black-boards. Our art teacher was called Miss White, so we all called her Chalkie. The history teacher really was a Miss Brown, but we called her porkie, I`ve forgotten why!

HUH? You mean they still have chalkboards around in schools yet? Gee, I'm finally an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree, but all the boards that the instructors used in my children's HS Classrooms were of the Dry-Erase Kind ..... (which can double as Screens for Computer projections).

no it doesn't, and we still call white boards white boards, so what's the difference????
should we call those 'non permanent marker boards' just so we don't risk offending anyone for their race!!!!!
It is a colour, like pink, white, green, yellow.......before long we'll not be able to say the sky is blue or the grass is green lol
