I don't know what you're building but i recently built a large cage for my tortoise and used Plexi-glass from homedepot, it is flexible, affordable and you can screw it to the fame of whatever your building. How I built my torts cage was, I bowed out the front of the cage and then formed the plexiglass on the outside so the tort and my kids can see from a larger range. Then I went along the inside with clear culk to seal it better. If you do use plexiglass, be sure to drill your holes before you screw it down, otherwise the glass will split.

if u are using it to house any thing that needs allot of water remember to get the right thickness and if u want to build a huge tank. That can become very costly i looked into buying bulk glass and building my own and it turned out it is cheaper to buy an already made tank i saved 100 buying from a store
and i got a 60 gallon and planed on building a 50 gallon
but maybe u have your reasons so any place that sells glass will do i would recommend trying to go to a ware house tho not a stupid store that will rip u off.
i cant give u any names because each city will probably be different glass people like when i wanted to get my glass fore my tank i went to van island windows they where the cheapest
but they are only located on Vancouver island (Victoria)

if you have an Ace hardware or a home depot that supplies glass you can tell them the specs for the glass tell them you want them to cut and you will pick it up when they are done. both have cut glass for me before with no charge. I would think along the lines of the previous answer plexi glass is the stuff. if later on you want to enlarge it or redesign it you just unscrew it and add to ar subtract where you need the changes to be. also when the kids or neigbors are rough housing you don't have to worry about one of them putting there foot through your cage. not thats happened to me more than once or twice.

glass manufactures in the phone book to buy the glass, but you will also need a glass cutter which you can buy at your local hardware shop. but if your building it to house a pet you will have to see your local pet shop to see what type of bonding gels i.e(no more gaps) you can use as some of them are poisonious to animals as some are toxic & some are not !
