I am an x-ray tech with many years of experience. It is routine and standard for a patient to change into a gown because certian fabrics can distort an x-ray. A rectal temp and breast exam are not pertinent to a chest x-ray and would NEVER be performed by an x-ray tech before a chest x-ray. A chest x-ray is performed primarily to evaluate the lungs. A radiologist is the doctor who reads the x-ray.

You do need to change, even if you don't have metal on you because it's a safety issue. They can't chance it. IT's protocol for you to change into a gown of some sort. So that part is normal.

And the exam and the temperature are fairly routine. However, if you feel as though the person giving you the breast exam crossed a line then you should address it with the person in charge of the facility that it was done at AND if you feel it truely was a violation you're local athorities need to be notified.

I can understand why they asked you to change it sounds like procedure, you should have used a room or private area to change in. But whats up with a rectal temperature thats freaky. I have had plenty of xrays and never had a rectel temperature taken. I would ask another health professional in that hospital or somewhere what there normal procedures are for xrays!

A rectal exam and an extensive breast exam are not standard proceedure for a routine chest xray...you might consider contacting her supervisor and/or the administrator.

I had something similar happen. The nurse practitioner did the longest breast exam ever and the way she was touching me freaked me out. My friend said I should have filed a complaint, but I was afraid to since I might see her again at the facility. If you can avoid seeing that person again, I would either talk to someone there to find out if that is standard procedure or file a complaint.

conflict including your landlord isn't damages, so which you will possibly in all risk be dropping some time and money. there is likewise the question of ways the radiologist have been given the documents. If he regarded on the documents, there is little that the scientific institution would have carried out to stay away from it. that would make HIM in charge, yet no longer the scientific institution.

I have had chest x-rays before. They NEVER did a rectal temperature on me nor a breast exam.

Report this tech to her supervisor. She violated you for doing what was not ordered.

sounds a little fishy. was she an md? if so, a breast exam is not out of line, and might explain her rude behavior.

unless she was some sort of medical professional, md, rn, np, etc. i don't think they have they can perform those sorts of procedures.

check out her credentials.

if nothing else, file a complaint with the hospital administrator for her rudeness.
