Oh, Hon, I am so VERY sorry for your loss! About 5 years ago, I went through the same thing; I lost my grandfather, drove 2/3rds the way acorss the United States to attend his funeral, had a horrible cold, etc. etc. So when I missed my period, & I told my cousin while I was there, she told me to give it a few days until after I got back: I guess it's pretty common that stress can cause a hold on a period. It's amazing what the mind can do to your body!! There are women who are SO convinced that they are pregnant, that their abdomens swell & they experience a "phantom" pregnancy! All from just having convinced themselves! So, yes, Stress can cause a hold on one's period, and believeing you are pregnant can hold it up indefinately, but either way, I say let things cool down (and yourself!) and then give yourself a test. (BTW: My story ended up w/ a positive pregnancy test! I now have a 4-year-old little girl :D
Best of luck & my condolences on your loss.

Not at all. It's not uncommon to miss a period without being pregnant. Sometimes it's stress related, or a result of a poor diet (usually a very poor diet, like...anorexia poor), but there are a number of factors that could cause you to miss it. If it will help put your mind at ease you can take a pregnancy test anyways, or talk to your doctor so they can tell you what they think is the most likely cause.

Not necessarily. There are many reasons that a woman could skip a period. My wife has a period about every other year. She definitely is NOT pregnant.

No, it could just mean your cycle is changing or your diet is bad ( not eating enough, over eating bad foods), stress has a lot to do with it too.
