They are essentially the same but there are a few differences.. the DS Lite has brighter screen so it looks a lot better than the DS it is also lighter in weight and the buttons are more easy to use.
If you are shopping for one get a DS Lite!

They are about the same price but since the line of regular DS has been discontinued you can usually find them on sale for cheaper than the lite. $150 CDN for the Lite and I paid $100 for the regular and a game.
The lite is smaller, and has a brighter clearer image, though honestly, I do not see a huge difference. Certainly not a $50 difference

The Ds lite is smaller and the screen can get much brighter then the normal one its also smaller and sleeker. The Ds lite charger is also different. The Ds doesn't play Gameboy color games but I don't know if the normal one can. Hope this helps dude!!!

The DS lite is 30% smaller, lighter and has a much brighter screen. From experience, the DS lite is far superior.

Nintendo DS-bigger, less bright, old
Nintendo DS Lite-brighter screen, buttons are in different places, smaller, looks cooler(more shiny), and has better graphics
